Theory of a Deadman performs live in concert during the ninth annual Schwab Fest on Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan, May 23. The festival’s headlining band hails from Delta, British Columbia, Canada, and is known for its three platinum records. The event strengthened the relationship between Okinawa residents and service members through food, carnival rides, games and music. “The American and Japanese bands’ performances really brought everyone together,” said Lance Cpl. Daniel D. Hinga, with 3rd Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, and a Las Vegas, Nevada, native. “Though a lot of the (attendees) speak different languages, they are enjoying the music. The food, fun and activities are really great tools to bridge the gaps between (Okinawa residents) and Americans.” (Marine Corps Photo by Cpl. Janessa K. Pon/ Released)
