A pair of boots worn by Chaplain (Capt.) Stacy Beasley, 5th Eng. Bn., 4th MEB, 1st Inf. Div., during his stay on Mona Island, Puerto Rico, late last year. The boots’ condition tell the story of Mona Island, considered some of the most inhospitable terrain in the northern hemisphere, and Beasley’s brushes with the numerous razor sharp coral rocks there. Beasley’s stint on Mona Island was highlighted during a recent Animal Planet docudrama, titled “Monster Island,” which aired in May.
