60th Security Forces Squadron airmen sharpen their skills by participating in ongoing active shooter training, Travis Air Force Base, Calif., April 8, 2015. An active shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people, most often in populated areas. In most cases, active shooters use firearms and there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims. William Mongeon and Joey Blocker, both Airmen First Class Installation Entry Controllers assigned with the 60th Security Force Squadron, cautiously move through the hallway looking for any possible threat. What they learn from engaging in these exercises may someday give them the experience to save lives in a real world situation. (Released - U.S. Air Force Photo By Heide Couch/Released)
