A U.S. Marine AV-8B Harrier with Marine Attack Squadron 311 slowly comes down for a landing on the flight deck of the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) during deck landing qualification training June 9, 2015. VMA-311 is currently attached to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit as part of the MEU's aviation combat element. The Marines and sailors of the 31st MEU and Amphibious Squadron 11 set sail the previous day from Okinawa, Japan, for the MEU's regularly scheduled Fall Patrol of the Asia-Pacific region.
