U.S. Marine 1st Lt. Christina Nymeyer teaches Lance Cpl. Phillip Smith how to engage a target and reload using only a one-handed grip during a deck shoot on the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), June 12, 2015. Marines and sailors with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, used the training evolution to hone their skills by firing using a variety of stances and grips. The 31st MEU is deployed on its regularly scheduled Fall Patrol of the Asia-Pacific region. Nymeyer, a Roanoke, Virginia, native, is the commander of the Military Police Detachment assigned to CLB 31, 31st MEU.
