    Marine Rotational Force - Darwin

A U.S. Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, lifted and transported a U.S. Navy HH-60 Seahawk helicopter June 16 to Royal Australian Air force Base Darwin, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. Two CH-53Es conducted the recovery operation, lifting and carrying the HH-60 from Kangaroo Flats Training Area, Northern Territory, Australia. The heavy-lift helicopter is capable of carrying up to 16 tons of cargo and despite its size is powerful enough to lift every rotary-wing aircraft in the Marine Corps inventory. The MRF-D six-month deployment demonstrates how the Marine Air Ground Task Force is equipped and organized to carry out national objectives in cooperation with our national and international partners.
