Brig. Gen. Armando Mejia, the Salvadoran Army Chief of Staff signs the "golden book" for Consumidero, El Salvador, documenting the partnership between El Salvador and the U.S. during Beyond the Horizon 2015. Beyond the Horizon is a U.S. Southern Command sponsored, U.S. Army South planned and led humanitarian and civic assistance exercise. The exercise is a major component of the U.S. military's regional engagement efforts and affords a unique opportunity to train U.S. service members alongside partner nation personnel, while providing needed services to communities throughout the region.
