A Soldier adjusts his night vision goggles as his unit prepares for a night air assault exercise June 12, 2015, in Fort Drum, N.Y. The air assault by Soldiers of Camp Pendleton-based Troop C, 2nd Squadron, 183rd Cavalry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Virginia Army National Guard launched the beginning of a five-day squadron field training exercise during the 116th IBCT’s Multi-echelon Integrated Brigade Training exercise. The MIBT was overseen by First Army East, a division responsible for training Reserve and National Guard troops ahead of their ready year. The troop integrated engineers from Fredericksburg-based 116th Brigade Special Troops Battalion and joint terminal attack controllers from the 118th Air Support Operations Squadron, North Carolina Air National Guard based in Albermale, N.C.
