ARABIAN GULF (June 16, 2015) –An MH-60 Seahawk helicopter assigned to the Grandmasters of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 46 deploys a sonobuoy, a tactical sonar system used for tracking submarine activity. Normandy is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations as part of Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, conducting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
