Team Army leads the parade of athletes during opening ceremonies for the 2015 Warrior Games. The intra-service Paralympic styled competition began in 2010 and had been dominated by the U.S. Marine Corps team each year until Team Army pulled an upset in 2014 taking home the Commander’s Cup as top medalist. Participating for her fourth year, Sgt. Jasmine Perry – a below the knee amputee - has medaled in swimming, track and field, and has added two new events to her athletic repertoire; archery and wheelchair basketball. With Marine Corps Base Quantico playing host to the nearly 250 participating athletes representing six service teams including U.S. Special Operations Command and the British Armed Forces. She knows that out-medaling them on their home turf may prove tricky but it is doable. “I’ve got my eye on the prize (Commander’s Cup trophy),” Perry said. “We have a tight team and as long as we focus and apply our training we can do this.” (Photo by Staff Sgt.
