    U.S. Coast Guard 2nd Corporal Jair Barros of the Cape Verde Coast Guard waits to embark a small boat from the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Legare, Sept. 1. Representatives of the Cape Verde Coast Guard and Judiciary Police teamed with the crew of Legare to patrol Cape Verde's waters as part of Africa Partnership Station. APS, a Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Africa led initiative, brings together partners from the United States, Europe and Africa to conduct joint maritime law enforcement operations in African waters to improve maritime safety and security.
