Sgt. 1st Class Nicholas Cage, a platoon sergeant with Company D, 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, enjoys the shade at Camp Al Taqaddam, Al Anbar province, Iraq, following a transfer-of-authority ceremony between 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, and his battalion, Sept. 6. Cage says he stresses to his paratroopers the importance of adhering to the escalation-of-force procedures and rules of engagement to prevent any incident that might jeopardize the success of the brigade's mission so that the lives lost during the campaign are not wasted.
