Soldiers from the California Army National Guard’s Delta Company, 185th Armor Battalion, based out of Madera, sight in their guns digitally using a targeting board in preparation for a live-fire exercise in the backcountry ranges of Camp Roberts, June 7, 2015. The unit, which normally houses and trains on their M1A1SA Abrams at Fort Irwin’s National Training Center, broke a 10-year drought of not cutting their teeth at the CalGuard’s largest training facility, and arrived their in force for the units annual training. Camp Roberts provided a different landscape for their war games but limited the main battle tanks on the distance and round usage they could employ. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Master Sgt.
