AFN is a part of the American Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS) and its mission is to communicate Department of Defense policies, priorities, programs, goals and initiatives to service members, DoD civilian employees, and their families while simultaneously providing "a touch of home" with stateside radio and television programming to those serving serving outside the continental United States.
