U.S. Marine Corps LCpl. Eric Moore, a rifleman with Company A, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, embarks on the USNS Sacagawea (T-AKE-2) June 17 to depart Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia for Exercise Koa Moana 15.2 in East Timor. A platoon of Marines will be conducting a bilateral exercise with the East Timor Defence Force, focusing on individual level fundamentals to build proficiency in complex squad and platoon level tasks. The bilateral training will include room clearing of buildings, urban movement and patrolling. The MRF-D six-month deployment demonstrates how the Marine Air Ground Task Force is equipped and organized to carry out national objectives in cooperation with our national and international partners.
