Sgt. 1st Class Bob Quinata, engineer inspector, 303rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, is promoted by Command Sgt. Maj. Randy Harr during exercise Imua Dawn. The 303rd MEB began exercise Imua Dawn, which will serve as their annual training event, at Sagami Depot, Sagamihara, Japan, Jun. 27.
Imua Dawn is a Command Post Exercise (CPX) designed specifically for Maneuver Enhancement Brigades and is a U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM) focused, brigade-level CPX for USPACOM and U.S. Army Pacific Command (USARPAC) assigned forces. Brigade and battalion level staffs are required to perform critical collective tasks during the exercise.
The Imua Dawn exercise aims to establish, implement and test exercise design, concept, and infrastructure. The exercise will also integrate White Cell operations (Higher, Lower, Adjacent, Supporting, and Supported response cells (HALSS)) with observer-controller support and Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force participation. Secondly, the Imua Dawn Exercise will give both the 303rd MEB staff and their subordinate battalion staffs the opportunity to exercise their respective Commander's Training Objectives (CTO). Finally, the Imua Dawn exercise looks to set the conditions for making it the premier enduring MEB CPX here in Japan as well as anywhere in the world.
