Marines participate in a man-sized cardboard boat race July 2 at Torii Beach on Torii Station, Okinawa, during the annual Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron-36 Beach Bash. The event provided MALS-36 Marines and their families the opportunity to get to know one another in a relaxed environment through team building activities. The bash’s main event was a man-sized cardboard boat competition, showcasing boats different work sections designed and constructed weeks prior to the competition. Following the judging of the boats, Marines representing their work sections carried their vessels to the sandbar and, upon the starting command, paddled furiously in a race against tide and wind.
