Army Sgt. Rachel Cornett of the 193 Military Police Bn. Colorado National Guard, uses a pickaxe to break up rocks on a construction site near Postojna, Slovenia. The 140th worked alongside the Slovenian army to renovate and retrofit a building for use as a range control point. The building will be used by U.S., Slovenian, and NATO partner nations during future operations, including the upcoming "Immediate Response," a joint, multinational exercise.The Colorado national guard is paired with Slovenia as part of the department of defense' state partnership program, an initiative designed to promote access, enhance military capabilities, and improve interoperability between the U.S. and partner nations.
