150526-N-TP976-236 U.S. 5th FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 25, 2015) – The guided-missile destroyer USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98) fires a Mk 38 25mm machine gun at a "red tomato" training target during a live fire evolution. Forrest Sherman is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations as part of Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
