Maj. Gen. James Pillsbury (standing, center), Commanding General, U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, talks with Spc. Jason O'Dell, Company B, 96th Aviation Support Battalion, a helicopter engine mechanic, about an engine that is being prepared to be put into a Blackhawk helicopter as part of a 360-hour maintenaince phase during a visit to the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade May 4 at Contingency Operating Base Speicher, Iraq. Pillsbury is no stranger to the 101st Aviation Brigade and 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), having spent several years there earlier in his career. Visiting Company B, 96th Aviation Support Battalion, was something of a homecoming for Pillsbury. Company B is the largest maintenance company in the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, containing Chinook, Blackhawk, Apache and Kiowa helicopters. He commanded the maintenance in 8th Battalion, 101st Combat Aviation Battalion, which transformed into 96th Aviation Support Battalion.
