SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (May 2, 2015) Capt. Ronald Ravelo, commanding
officer of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN
72) alongside Command Master Chief Lee Salas speak with children from
the Boys & Girls Club of Central Illinois about life in the Navy and
the importance of education while visiting Springfield May 1. Seven
USS Abraham Lincoln crew members visited the “Land of Lincoln” May 1-4
to commemorate the 150th anniversary of their namesake's funeral.
