ARABIAN SEA (June 15, 2015) - Search and Rescue (SAR) swimmer Machinist's Mate 1st Class Aaron Rogers, from Pensacola, Fla., simulates a man overboard recovery aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG 81). SAR swimmers play a key role in personnel safety and mission readiness of U.S. naval vessels. USS Winston S. Churchill is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations as part of Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, conducting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
