SAN DIEGO (May 11, 2015) - The amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47) departs San Diego for a deployment in support of the Navy's maritime strategy. Rushmore is assigned to Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 3 and with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (11th MEU) is part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group.
