Two New York Army National Guard indirect-fire Infantrymen assigned to the 2nd Squadron 101st Cavalry adjust a 60 millimeter M224 mortar during an Exportable Combat Training Capability (XCTC) exercise at Fort Drum, N.Y., July 15. The M224 is capable of putting rounds 3,4900 meters downrange and is manned by a crew of three. During combat operations, the mortar teams are deployed to cover troop movements.
