A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District employee was posthumously awarded the Superior Civilian Service Award, a United States flag, flown over the U.S. Capitol, and recognized for 40 years of government service during a ceremony at the district June, 9, 2015. Philip L. Burney, a budget analyst in the Operations Division, who was nicknamed Nashville District’s ‘Gentle Giant’, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Feb. 1, 2015.
