The 93rd Civil Support Team, U. S. Army Active Duty National Guardsman Staff Sgt. Eckles of Honolulu and Pacific Strike Force, U. S. Coast Guardsmen, Marine Science Technician 1st Class Jeremy Thomas of Ontario, Calif., lift a barrel with hazardous waste onto a truck while on the shoreline of an area in Pago Pago, American Samoa, on Oct. 3. The two must put the waste into a safe area so that it can be disposed of properly. As part of their duties, they will search along the coastline and inland for for hazardous materials that might have been carried away after waves measuring 30 feet damaged the island and much of the shoreline hardened structures. pacificrelief
