Capt. Richard Allen, chaplain for 2nd Battalion, 104th Aviation Regiment and a Hermitage, Pa., native, holds mass at Eastern Barracks for a handful of Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 77th Armored Regiment recently. There is only a small company of Soldiers, from the 1st Battalion, 77th Armor Regiment, stationed there, so they don't have a chaplain dedicated to the base. Allen, a priest at Meadville's Church of St. Agatha, travels to the small outpost to provide area religious support coverage roughly twice a month.
