ARTA BEACH, Djibouti (July 25, 2015) U.S. Marines with 1st Tank Detachment, Headquarters and Service Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, use an M88A2 Hercules recovery vehicle to lift the engine out of an M1A1 Abrams tank to repair it during sustainment training. Elements of the 15th MEU are ashore in Djibouti for sustainment training to maintain and enhance the skills they developed during their pre-deployment training period. The 15th MEU is currently deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operation.
