U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Brett Tate leads a patrol through thick vegetation as a part of Air Assault Support Exercise 2015-2 on Basa Air Base in Pampanga, Philippines, July 21, 2015. The patrol executed a practice raid and casualty evacuation drill which prepared the Marines to deal with the rigors of patrolling through thick vegetation and helicopter extraction. Tate, from Alger, Michigan, is a squad leader with 2nd Platoon, Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Division and is attached to III Marine Expeditionary Force through the Unit Deployment Program.
