U.S. Marines act as the anchor while Philippine Marines fast rope from an MV-22B Osprey during Air Assault Support Exercise 2015-2 on Basa Air Base in Pampanga, Philippines, July 19, 2015. By establishing an anchor point, the U.S. Marines hold the rope in place to help control the path of descent ensuring the service members can safely land. AASE is a bilateral training event focused on strengthening the alliance between the Philippines and the U.S. The U.S. Marines are with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Division and are attached to III Marine Expeditionary Force through the Unit Deployment Program.
