Police Sgt. Steven Bostic, 502nd Security Forces Squadron desk sergeant, participates in use of force training with Tad Robertson, 502nd Security Forces Squadron training instructor, Jan. 14, 2015, at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston. In compliance with a decision by the Air Force Security Forces Center, Department of the Air Force civilian police and guards at JBSA started wearing commensurate military-type rank based on their general schedule pay grade December 2014. Insignias are worn by civilian police officers at the GS-7 level and above, while entry-level officers at the GS-5 and GS-6 levels, who make up the majority of the JBSA civilian police force, continue to wear no insignias.
