150804-N-ZZ999-001 BARKING SANDS, Hawaii (August 4, 2015) - Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Virgil Newton, assigned to Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 2, installs lifting points on damaged subsea cables to support cable splicing operations. UCT 2’s Construction Dive Detachment Charlie (CDDC) is performing subsea cable maintenance at the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF). CDDC is on the first stop of their deployment, where they are conducting inspection, maintenance and repair of various underwater and waterfront facilities in support of the Pacific Fleet.
