Eric Osborne (left), a patient and Soldier with the Warrior Transition Brigade-National Capital Region, and his non-medical attendant (NMA), Christy Blankenship, head to a medical appointment July 29 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Naval Support Activity, Bethesda, Md. As an NMA, Blankenship, who hails from Durham, N.C., helps her friend of six years, Osborne, with doing many different tasks to include getting to and from medical appointments, preparing medications, shopping and laundry.
