Tony Kirksey, 402nd Software Maintenance Squadron electronic engineer, monitors the health of the aircraft during a simulated mission in the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex C-5 System Integration Lab. The 402nd Software Maintenance Group has been tasked by the C-5 System Program Office with updating the SIL with installation of a new Core Mission Computer and Color Weather Radar. The tasking is in support of an effort by Lockheed Martin under the direction of the SPO to develop upgrades to the CMC and CWR systems as part of a long-term program to extend the life of the Air Force C-5 fleet beyond 2040.
