The city of New London celebrates becoming a "Coast Guard City" with a ceremony in New London, Conn., Aug. 14, 2015. Speakers at the event included Vice Adm. Sandra Stosz, deputy commandant for mission support at the Coast Guard, Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, and New London Mayor Daryl Justin Finizio. New London is home to the Coast Guard Academy, Coast Guard Station New London, U.S. Coast Guard Research and Development Center, the Marine Safety Lab, the International Ice Patrol and is the future home of the National Coast Guard Museum.
