Petty Officer 1st Class Demond Chaney, the Aft Galley leading petty officer, brings the first of four trays of roast beef into the aft galley mess for the 234th Navy birthday celebration on board the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is on a routine deployment to the region. Operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
