Sgt. Cody E. Carpenter of the Caisson Platoon, 1st Battalion, 3rd United States Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) conducts his final ride as a member of the Caisson Platoon on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Va., Aug. 18, 2015. Carpenter completed 139 rides since joining the platoon in December of 2014. Soldiers of the Caisson Platoon conduct memorial affairs in Arlington National Cemetery and have the honor of giving their fallen brother-in-arms a dignified escort to their final resting place.
