Dismounted infantry return fire while advancing on the "enemy" Aug. 19 at the Crittenberger Multi-Purpose Range Complex at Fort Hood, Texas. Soldiers from Company A, 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, conducted a combined arms live fire exercise Aug. 19 involving M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tanks, M2A3 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles, AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopters, 120 mm artillery, dismounted infantry maneuvers and mortars. The exercise was part of 1st ABCT’s "Ironhorse Challenge" Aug. 10-22, in preparation for the armored brigade’s upcoming decisive action rotation at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, Calif., in October.
