Pacific Partnership 2015 medical personnel conduct restorative medicine summit in Da Nang, Vietnam

DA NANG, Vietnam (Aug. 22, 2015) A Vietnamese father and his daughter speak to U.S. and Vietnamese medical personnel at the Da Nang Northern Hotel during a restorative medicine summit as part of Pacific Partnership 2015. The girl received reconstructive procedures from a previous Pacific Partnership mission after suffering widespread burns, and the father brought her to the summit to express his gratitude for the medical care. The hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) is currently in Vietnam for its fourth mission port of PP15. Pacific Partnership is in its 10th iteration and is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. While training for crisis conditions, Pacific Partnership missions to date have provided real world medical care to approximately 270,000 patients and veterinary services to more than 38,000 animals. Critical infrastructure development has been supported in host nations during more than 180 engineering projects. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Peter Reft/RELEASED)
