DA NANG, Vietnam (Aug. 24, 2015) Chris Garten (left), from Fredrick, Md., and Andrea Sematoske, from Syracuse, N.Y., members of the Pacific Fleet Band's woodwind quintet, Tradewinds currently embarked on hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-Ah 19) play a bassoon duet for the students and faculty of the Nguyen Dinh Chiey special school as part of Pacific Partnership 2015. Twenty students from the school performed with a variety of instruments native to the area before the members of Tradewinds performed their songs, which included a traditional Vietnamese folk song, "Ly Cay Bong." Mercy is at its fourth mission port for PP15. Pacific Partnership is in its 10th iteration and is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. While training for crisis conditions, Pacific Partnership missions to date have provided real world medical care to approximately 270,000 patients and veterinary services to more than 38,000 animals.
