Petty Officer 1st Class Michael S. Napoleon, a boatswain’s mate with EPU 115, disassembles a satellite dish on the Mobile Sealift Operations Center (MSOC) here during Exercise Ulchi Freedom Guardian (UFG) 2015. The MSOC provides critical communications equipment for managing port operations during austere conditions or when permanent structure is inoperative. The MSOC was operated by Sailors from Expeditionary Port Unit 115, a reserve unit based out of San Diego, and Military Sealift Command Office Korea based out of Busan, Republic of Korea. Exercise UFG 15 is a chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff-sponsored, Commander, PACOM-directed, United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and U.S. Forces Korea annual joint/combined command post exercise. The purpose of the exercise is to enhance the combat readiness of ROK and U.S. supporting forces through combined and joint training while improving ROK-U.S. combat readiness, and combined and joint interoperability.
