150830-A-BK746-080 COROCITO, Honduras (Aug. 30, 2015) Lt. Jeffrey Smith (left), a native of Taylorville, Ohio, and dentist assigned to assigned to Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center Great Lakes, Ill., works with a volunteer from the non-governmental organization (NGO) University of California San Diego Pre-Dental Society (UCSD-PDS) to perform a dental procedure at a medical site established at Centro de Educacion Basica Dr. Jesus Aguilar Paz during Continuing Promise 2015 (CP-15). UCSD PDS volunteers are working alongside other NGOs and military members during CP-15. Continuing Promise is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored and U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet-conducted deployment to conduct civil-military operations including humanitarian-civil assistance, subject matter expert exchanges, medical, dental, veterinary and engineering support and disaster response to partner nations and to show U.S. support and commitment to Central and South America and the Caribbean.
