During an Aug. 18, 2015, briefing at the Army Reserve Engagement Team-Japan's office in Camp Zama, Japan, Army Command Sgt. Maj. Luther Thomas, Jr., command sergeant major, U.S. Army Reserve, discuss the Army Reserve's new retention programs and training initiatives with Army Reserve Soldiers currently serving with U.S. Army Japan and I Corps (Forward). Thomas introduced “Operation Full Court Press,” the Army Reserve's latest campaign to keep qualified enlisted Soldiers in the Army through promotion incentives and civilian employment opportunities. The Army Reserve Soldiers in attendance gave Thomas insight on the challenges and opportunities embedded in the Drilling Individual Mobilization Augmentee (DIMA) program. USARJ and I Corps (Fwd) depends on the DIMA program to fill key leadership positions that ensure the command maintains the talent and manpower necessary to manage the numerous logistical missions and bilateral engagements conducted throughout Japan.
