Forty-one US Army Europe Expert Field Medical Badge candidates line up at the starting line on the morning of Sept. 3 for their final test prior to earning the badge: complete a 12 mile ruck under three hours while maintaining accountability of all their gear. The 192 candidates represented units from US Army Europe, US Army Africa, Kosovo Force, and NATO allied nations participated in hopes of earning the coveted EFMB, and just 38 made it across the finish line to earn their badge.
