PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 2, 2015) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 2nd Class Michael Udtohan prepares to receive a landing approach of an MH-60R Sea Hawk with Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 75 while the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18) continues her transit on the starboard side during flight operations aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25). Somerset and New Orleans are currently participating in Exercise Dawn Blitz 2015 (DB-15). Dawn Blitz 2015 is a scenario-driven exercise designed to train the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps in operations expected of an amphibious task force while also building U.S. and coalition operational interoperability. The exercise will test staffs in the planning and execution of amphibious operations in a series of live training events at sea and ashore.
