150831-N-ZY039-060 ARABIAN GULF (Aug. 26, 2015) – Sailors assigned to the cyclone-class patrol ship USS Typhoon (PC 5) perform a simulated Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) exercise aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60). Normandy is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations as part of Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, conducting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
