Army Staff Sgt. Mitchel Havard, a recruiter in College Station, Texas, attempts to get out of a headlock while disarming Army Staff Sgt. Timothy Bridge, another recruiter in College Station, during a self-defense training class at a local martial arts gym in College Station, Aug. 14, 2015. The owner and instructor, Master Renee Nolte, volunteered to teach the recruiting station different methods of unarmed self-defense against various weapons, to include pistols and knives. With the attacks in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Nolte wanted to make sure that recruiters are able to defend themselves if need be while waiting to be given permission to carry their own firearms.
