Lieutenant Colonel Brian S. Middleton, the commanding officer of 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, takes part in the unit’s Thunder Mug Ceremony aboard Marine Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., Sept. 17, 2015. 3/4 took part in the Thunder Mug Ceremony after reactivating the battalion. The Marine Corps’ reactivation of the “Thundering Third” officially starts Oct. 1, 2015, which marks exactly 90 years of dedicated service within the Corps.
