U.S. Marine 1st Lt. Jake Fox, right, highlights the first objective of the final exercise of Forest Light 16-1 at Camp Imazu, Takashima, Japan, Sept. 15, 2015. The Japan Ground Self- Defense Force worked alongside the Marines to overtake three simulated objectives. Forest Light is a semi-annual, bilateral exercise conducted by elements of III Marine Expeditionary Force and the JGSDF. The JGSDF members are with 50th Infantry Regiment, 14th Brigade, JGSDF. Fox, from Jackson, Michigan, is an intelligence officer with 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
