KUWAIT (Aug. 30, 2015) U.S. Marine scout snipers with Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, fire special application scoped rifles at targets during a sniper shoot. During the training, Marines engaged targets at unknown distances ranging from 300 to more than 1,000 yards. Elements of the 15th MEU are ashore in Kuwait for sustainment training to maintain and enhance the skills they developed during their pre-deployment training period. The 15th MEU is embarked aboard the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
